The Approach

Your Home Base for the Adventures You Came For

Most places near Pisgah give you a place to sleep. This one is built for what happens after the miles are done.

You know the feeling. Legs cooked, hands sore, grinning anyway. The day did exactly what you wanted it to do. Now you just need somewhere that does not make the rest of it harder than it has to be.

Mud on your boots. Wet waders. Dust on your bike. Everything here is set up so you can clean up, reset, and do it again tomorrow.

Drop the bikes in the garage instead of the living room. Hose off Pisgah clay at the wash area before it follows you inside. Hang the waders to dry overnight. Rack the rods. Trail maps are on the walls when you start sorting out the next day.

Then the day catches up. Hot tub on the deck. Fire pit out back. A real shower and a bed that does not make anyone draw the short straw. You earned the quiet part too.

Coffee early, gear ready, plan in hand. Get out before the trailheads fill up, push it as hard as you want, and come back to a place that already knows what kind of trip you are on.

That is the whole idea. You picked the right place to land.

Tell Us About Your Trip, and We'll Help Make It Great

Before you arrive, tell me what you're here to do. I'll send you a custom guide with the routes, the best access points, drive times, and the local spots worth your time. No guessing on your first morning. No wasting a good day trying to find where to park. Just a plan that fits the trip you came for.

For Riders

17 min to Pisgah Ranger Station, 11 min to DuPont. 250+ miles of singletrack, from flowy beginner loops to expert Pisgah gnar. The Hub & Pisgah Tavern is 14 min away for food, parts, and a beer when the ride is done. We'll point you to the right trail for your legs and the day's conditions.

For Fly Fishermen

Davidson River catch-and-release 16 min from the house, one of Trout Unlimited's Top 100 streams. Davidson River Outfitters sits right at the Pisgah entrance for flies, licenses, and a current read on the water. Rod racks and wader drying are waiting for you back at the house.

For Hikers

Transylvania County has 250+ named waterfalls. Looking Glass 23 min, Triple Falls 12 min, Black Balsam and Graveyard Fields 30 min and worth it. We'll match the hike to your group, from roadside falls to a full day on the ridge, and tell you when to start to beat the crowds.

For Road Cyclists

Right on US 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The benchmark Brevard climb starts at your door, and the Tour de Transylvania route is 18 min away. Check Parkway status before you build the day; closures move with the weather up high.

The Gear Setup

The gear setup.

What sets this place apart isn't the location. It's the setup.

This home is spectacular. As soon as you walked in you felt comfortable and in awe of all of the beautiful structures of the home. The fully fenced backyard and the hot tub were absolutely on point after a long drive. Our entire family had a blast!

Lovely, beautifully equipped home! We enjoyed the porch and deck and hot tub so much. The kitchen had everything plus more! So appreciated the spices and many appliances and many extras. The large capacity washer and dryer and detergent — such a help! The master bath was such a treat; loved the great tub and extras. House was immaculate.

Absolutely the best and most accurately pictured and described Airbnb we've experienced! Wonderful location — peaceful if you want to relax, but great hiking, waterfalls, cute small towns to explore, and even Asheville sights if you want to venture out each day. Btw the kitchen is extensively equipped with just about anything a chef would want!

This was a very good stay overall and I would recommend it for anyone! Jim was an amazing host, very responsive. The place was very well kept and the small details were amazing — waters, coffee, a crate for the dog, dog bags. They really went above and beyond. The location is to die for, perfect for hiking, and the cabin itself is stunningly beautiful and very private. A couple of minor notes for future guests: our hot tub was cold when we arrived so we lost a day while it warmed up (the host was very quick to get someone out to fix it), and the backup generator was loud when it ran at night. Other than those two minor hiccups the stay was amazing and I would highly recommend.

Frequently Asked

Frequently asked.

Can I bring my dog? +

Yes. Fully fenced yard. Dog crates available if you need to crate while you're on the trail. Water bowls and waste bags provided. $75 per stay.

How close are you to Pisgah and DuPont? +

11 min to DuPont State Forest. 17 min to the Pisgah Ranger Station. 16 min to the Davidson River.

Is there cell service? +

Spotty to nonexistent inside Pisgah and parts of DuPont. Download offline maps and trail data before heading out. The house has high-speed WiFi.

What if I've never ridden Pisgah before? +

Pisgah trails run harder than their ratings suggest. A blue-rated trail here often rides like a black diamond elsewhere. Start at DuPont to get your legs dialed before heading into Pisgah proper.
